We sadly announce the passing of L. Glenn Childress, 84, of Jemison, Alabama who passed away peacefully June 23, 2025.
He was born January 25, 1941, in Jemison, Alabama, son of the late Rufus Childress and the late Lorace Childress.
Glenn was drafted into the U.S. Army, were he proudly served his country. His time in the military shaped him into the strong man his family came to know and love. He also was an Insurance adjuster for State Farm for many years.
Surviving are his Daughters, Hollie (Matt) Lane, Martie (Kacy) Mims; Honorary Son, Dee (Becky) Adcock; Granddaughters, Breeana Davis, Taylor Lane, Katie Bryant, Jill Clemons, Laura Vinzant,; Caregiver for many years, Donna Brown; and a host of other family.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Rufus Childress; Mother, Lorace Childress; Twin infant daughters; Niece, Lagena Wilson.
Friends will be received Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Center Hill Baptist Church.
A Service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Center Hill Baptist Church with Shawn Lowery officiating.
He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.
