Linda Donniette (Crumpton) Bracken, 77, of Thorsby, went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2026. Linda lived a life centered on faith, family, and serving others. She will be remembered for her loving heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
She proudly served in the United States Air Force for two years before beginning a long career in banking, where she worked faithfully for many years. Later in life, she chose to retire from banking to devote herself to caring for her husband and family, a role she embraced with love and quiet strength.
Her servant’s heart led her to volunteer at JES and JIS, where she eventually became a beloved substitute teacher for six years. She had a natural gift with children and touched countless young lives with her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She faithfully served in the church nursery for many years and was known for her special way with babies, comforting and caring for them as if they were her own. She also found great joy singing in the church choir and sharing her love for God through worship and service.
Even in her later years, she continued caring for others by sitting with elderly women who needed companionship and assistance. She loved with her whole heart, never hesitating to help anyone in need or give whatever she could. Her generosity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family and faith will be remembered by all who knew her. Above all, she cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was a beautiful example of selflessness, grace, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her son, Mike Stone (Kim); her daughter, Cindy Means (Tony); three stepdaughters, Laura Fontenot, Lana Bracken, and Linda Bracken-Holbert; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Bracken; her father, R.C. Crumpton, Sr.; and her mother, Vivian Crumpton Capps.
