Linda Merlene Hallman

Merlene C. Hallman, age 90, of Marbury, Alabama peacefully passed from this life on Friday, September 4th, 2026.

She was born in Wadsworth, Alabama on February 23rd, 1936 to W. H. & Minnie Alice Clakley. She loved God, Family, and Alabama Football. She was a faithful member of Grace Fellowship Church in Clanton for many years and Wadsworth Baptist Church before that.

During her 31 year career with the Federal Government she received numerous awards and recognitions for "appreciation and her worthy contributions" to the Treasury Department. The passion for Alabama football, whether attending games at Bryant Denny or watching Bama on television was only surpassed by her love and passion for her Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren.

She is survived by her Children, Sonya Hutchins (Jay), Layne McGalliard (Chandra) and James Hallman (Mollie), Grandchildren, Jeffrey, Mason, Matthew, Jacob, Savannah, Amelia (Caleb) and Rachel, Charlotte, Miller and Dawson, Sisters in law, Betty Jo Davis and Carol McGalliard and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, 12 Siblings, and Husbands, Clyde R. McGalliard and James D. Hallman and Daughter, Renee.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Grace Fellowship Church, 1208 4th Ave. N. Clanton, Alabama.

The burial at Wadsworth Baptist Church Cemetery in Marbury, Alabama will be private.
