She was born on Tuesday, June 1, 1926 in Birmingham, AL, Daughter of the late Evan Varden and the late Luelza Logan Varden. She was a Secretary. Surviving are her 3 Daughters, Peggy (Melvin) Cox of Clanton, AL, Jo Ann Headley of Clanton, AL, Jenny Sumrall (Mickey Bragg) of New Brockton, AL; Son, Jimmy Payton (Bennie Vincent) of Clanton, AL; 7 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, A host of other loving family. She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Payton. Friends will be received from 1-2, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Gibson and Rev. Jerry Cleckler officiating.
