Lou Ann Mendia, 82, of Stanton died Monday, January 9, 2017 at Bibb Medical Center, Centreville. She was born on Monday, January 22, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky, Daughter of the late Clarence Jenkins and the late Fern Drake Jenkins. She worked in the bank for many years and was a mom and homemaker. Surviving are Sons, Tony Mendia, of Alaska, Michael Mendia, of Arizona; Sister, DeeDee Gregg of Stanton, AL; Special nephews, Johnny Gregg of Irondale, AL, Charles Kennedy of Ridgeland, MS, Wes Gregg of Plantersville, AL, Russell (Penny) Gregg of Stanton, AL; Sister-in-Law, Darlene Jenkins of West Blocton, AL; Special nieces, April (Patrick) Jenkins of West Blocton, AL, Kelli (Matthew) Price of Centreville, AL; 6 Great-nieces, 5 Great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Joe Mendia; Parents, Clarence & Fern Jenkins; Brother, John Jenkins . Friends will be received from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Rasberry officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery, Stanton, Alabama.
