Lynn Hall Cox (55) went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, July 23 at her home in Wilsonville, AL surrounded by her loved ones. Lynn was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and was in remission until last year. She amazed even her doctors with her strength and endurance as she lived each day with faith and determination to live her life to the fullest and continue to spread the good news of Christ and his saving power.
Lynn is survived by her husband, Tim Cox, of 22 years; her mother, Ena Hall of Mathews, AL; her sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Harvey Gaston of Perdue Hill, AL; her sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Jason Ketcham of Phenix City, AL; and her nieces and nephews, J.L. Gaston, Emma Gaston, Sandralynn Ketcham, and Aubrey Ketcham. She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur L. “Sonny” Hall, Jr.
Lynn loved deeply all those that she called family and friends. She spent the last several months praying and encouraging those around her to put their trust in Jesus, ask God for guidance and to never give up hope. She loved to spend summer days at the beach and fall nights in the mountains. She was passionate about her beautiful flower gardens and loved to bake desserts for her friends and family. Some of her best days were spent traveling with Tim to their favorite vacation spots and restaurants, with her nieces and nephews watching them play sports, shopping for the latest fashions, encouraging them with their musical talents and planning trips with them and visiting with her mama and sisters.
Lynn spent most of her life playing piano and singing at various church homes around the Montgomery, Clanton, and Wilsonville area. The Lord opened up many opportunities over the last seven years for her to not only share her beautiful vocal talents, but also her journey through this terrible disease and how the Lord continued to be faithful to her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 20 at 2PM at West End Baptist Church in Clanton, AL. Family and Friends are encouraged to dress in their favorite color, as we know, Lynn would want you to feel good in what you are wearing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local church, local food bank or other Christian organization making a difference for Christ.
