M. G. Smith, 88, of Lawley died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home, Pell City. He was born on Thursday, April 2, 1925 in Tuscaloosa, AL, Son of the late Messer Smith and the late Zula Wright. He worked for the Highway Department. Surviving are his Sons, Michael (Teresa) Smith of Chrestview, FL, Larry (Rhonda) Smith of Blountsville, AL, Steve (Mary) Smith of Toccoa, GA; 3 Brothers, Hudson Smith of Maplesville, AL, Curtis Smith of Maplesville, AL, Odis Smith of McCollia, AL; Sister, Dorothy Lenior of Phenix City, AL. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Verna Low Legrone Smith. Friends will be received from 6-8, Friday, October 11, 2013 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Robert Gibson and Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating.
