Mabel S. Cummings, 87, of Thorsby died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at St. Vincent's Chilton. She was born on Sunday, August 25, 1929 in Perry Co., AL, Daughter of the late James Smith and the late Rosie Terry Smith. She was a laborer in the textile industry. Surviving are her Sons, Wayne Cummings (Linda) of Thorsby, AL, Larry Cummings (Frankie) of Thorsby, AL; Daughter, Tammy Gilliland (Toby) of Columbus, GA; Sister, Mrs. Nell Cummings of Thorsby, AL; 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, 5 Great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Howard Judson Cummings; Daughter, Connie Cummings Cleckler; Son, Ronnie Lee Cummings. Friends will be received from 5-7, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Mulberry Baptist Church with Rev. David Bishop and Rev. Andy Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Mulberry Baptist Cemetery, Maplesville, Alabama. Martin Funeral Home directing.
