Obituary

Doris Maddox, age 86, of Clanton, AL went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord & Savior on June 8, 2026, one day after her birthday.

Doris left a legacy of love, faith, and a heart of gold with a smile that was so warming to everyone she came in contact with and she never met a stranger. Everyone she met became her family in her eyes. She was truly a Lighthouse to her family and all her friends. Doris loved her whole family with her huge heart and was so proud of them all. She had so many special friends that was always there for her and some that she would talk to for hours on the phone. Doris also loved her church family at Walnut Creek Methodist Church. She loved going until she was unable. She also loved the lake and spent many years at her lake house. She loved her neighbors and loved talking to them. Doris loved working in her yard and loved flowers. She also loved helping her family and supported them with all her loving heart. She will be truly missed forever more. Doris was truly a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and made sure all of them knew just how much she deeply cared and loved them. There is not enough words to ever express how much mom will be missed, but there is glory in seeing her again in Heaven.

Surviving are her Daughter, Kim (Jeff) Baker; Grandchildren, Tanya (Chad) Huett, Justin Baker; Great-Grandchildren, Ashlyn Huett, Colton Huett; Sisters, Helen Varden, Kathy (Jackie) Tracy.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Otis Varden; Mother, Lurlene Varden; Husband, Thomas Wayne Maddox; Infant Twins; Son, Dwayne Maddox; Brothers, Renfroe Varden, Otis Varden, Jr., George Varden, Wallace Varden, Jackie Varden; Sisters, Shirley Smitherman, Betty Hughs.

I want to express a very special thanks to her sister, Kathy Tracy for endless days with her and so much support all through this, and all my family also, my husband included, children, and grandchildren.

Until we meet again mom on that Glorious day.
