Margaret Ann Ward

Margaret Ann Ward, 90, of Verbena, Alabama passed away January 14, 2023, at  her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born January 29, 1932 in Montgomery, Alabama.  She was the daughter of the late Porter Ellis Morgan and the late Annie Mae Matthews Morgan.

Margaret was a homemaker who was known for the wonderful pound cakes she made for family, friends and neighbors.  She always gave a helping hand to anyone in need.  Margaret loved to travel with her "lady friends" and go to the country music concerts.  She often talked about listening to Hank Williams in the Sears parking lot in Montgomery.

Surviving are her Son, Billy (Debbie) Ward of Verbena Alabama; Son, James Maxie (Michelle) Ward of Jemison, Alabama; and her daughter, Mary Helen (John) Smithers of Gravette, Arkansas;  Also surviving are ten Grandchildren and sixteen Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, James Arvel Ward; Father, Porter Ellis Morgan; Mother, Annie Mae Matthews Morgan; Sister, Cleo Hughes; Brother, Charles Morgan; Brother, Norman Morgan.

Friends will be received Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Billy James "B.J." Ward officiating.

Interment will follow in Verbena Cemetery, Verbena, Alabama.
