Margaret Ann Erkes, 94, of Clanton, Alabama passed away June 13, 2024, at her residence in Clanton, AL.
She was born April 13, 1930, in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Madison Day and the late Lena Day.
Peggy, as she was known by her family, will always be remembered for her love of coffee and the smell of Charlie perfume. Her spunky personality and quick wit were always on display. She could turn any leftover into the most delicious pot of soup that never ended and could always feed a crowd. She loved her family and friends and was generous to all. Her faith throughout her life was a testament of her love for her Savior and a legacy she has left to us all.
Surviving are her Husband, William James Erkes, Sr.; Sons, Thomas R. Erkes, Gary (Mary) Erkes; Daughter, Jetta (John) Lepore; Granddaughter, Margalena Lepore; Grandsons, James R. (Susan) Erkes, Antonio J. (Yolandi) Lepore; Great-Granddaughter, Evelyn Ann Erkes; Great-Grandson, Nathan William Erkes.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Madison Livingston Day; Mother, Lena May Day; Son, William J. Erkes, Jr.; Sister, Phyllis Hoffner; Brothers, Madison Day, Charlie Day, Roland "Dick" Day, Paul Day.
