Mary Ann Burt Smith, 74, of Jemison, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado, while adventuring with family.

She was born on April 18, 1952, in Clanton, Alabama, and was the daughter of Haywood and Frances Burt.  She was a loving wife to Ben for the 53 years that preceded his death last year. Mary Ann was also a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a Coder/Biller for multiple hospitals for the majority of her working years before retiring to be home with Ben.

Surviving are her son, Benji (Veronica) Smith; daughter, Melissa (Jesse Woods, Jr.) Ashley; son, Jonathan (Kendra) Smith; grandson, Tyler (Sommer) Smith; granddaughter, Melony (Alex) Smith; grandson, Cade (Sarah) Ashley; grandson, William Ashley; grandson, Ethan Smith; great-granddaughters, Aubrey, Marilyn, Carlee and Dani Smith; brother, Wade Burt; sister, Nile (Glen) Pugh; sister, Theresa (Daniel) Mendez; and a host of other family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjaman Attaway Smith; father, Haywood Choat Burt; mother, Mary Frances Atchison Burt; brother, Robert Burt; and sister, Marie Reynolds.

Services will be announced later.  Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Maplesville, Alabama.
