Mary Ann Burt Smith, 74, of Jemison, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado, while adventuring with family.

She was born on April 18, 1952, in Clanton, Alabama, and was the daughter of Haywood and Frances Burt.  She was a loving wife to Ben for the 53 years that preceded his death last year. Mary Ann was also a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She was a Coder/Biller for multiple hospitals for the majority of her working years before retiring to be home with Ben.

Surviving are her son, Benji (Veronica) Smith; daughter, Melissa (Jesse Woods, Jr.) Ashley; son, Jonathan (Kendra) Smith; grandson, Tyler (Sommer) Smith; granddaughter, Melony (Alex) Smith; grandson, Cade (Sarah) Ashley; grandson, William (Taylor Groebe) Ashley; grandson, Ethan Smith; great-granddaughters, Aubrey, Marilyn, Carlee and Dani Smith; brother, Wade Burt; sister, Nile (Glen) Pugh; sister, Theresa (Daniel) Mendez; and a host of other family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjaman Attaway Smith; father, Haywood Choat Burt; mother, Mary Frances Atchison Burt; brother, Robert Burt; and sister, Marie Reynolds.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service will follow at Martin Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Maplesville, Alabama.
