Mary Jane Williams Fox, a beloved figure of Clanton, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 9, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on June 8, 1951, in the heart of Alabama, she was the cherished daughter of the late E.C. Williams and Annie Delene Culp Williams.During her lifetime, Mary Jane distinguished herself as a dedicated Clerk for the Chilton Water Authority, where her diligent work ethic and commitment to service were evident to all who encountered her. Yet, it was not only in her professional endeavors that she flourished. Mary Jane possessed a spirit of joy that permeated every aspect of her life. With a hearty love for gardening, travel, and shopping, she cultivated not only beautiful plants but also rich memories that will be cherished by her family and friends.

As a proud Christian woman, Mary Jane's faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her through both triumphs and challenges. Her unwavering belief and strength served as an inspiration to those fortunate enough to know her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts she touched.

Mary Jane leaves behind a legacy of love as she is survived by her devoted daughters, Heather Fox (Shane) Childress and Amy Fox (Onye Pamasa) Smith. The joy of her life, her grandchildren—Maverick Fox Barnett, Hayden C. Smith, Farrah M. Jones, Jasper Monroe Fox, and Harper Fox Childress—will continue to carry her spirit through their own adventures. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her brother, Ricky Cahalane, and her aunt, Ethel Ousley, alongside a host of other family members who were blessed to share in her life.

In her absence, the familial bond and the values she instilled will surely endure, providing comfort and strength. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilbert Monroe Fox, alongside her parents, E.C. Williams and Annie Delene Culp Williams, reuniting in eternal peace.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate her life on Friday, March 13, 2026. The visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mulberry Baptist Church, followed by a service officiated by Rev. Mark Lovett and Rev. Andy Mims at 12:00 p.m. The interment will ensue at Mulberry Baptist Cemetery in Maplesville, Alabama, where her earthly journey shall find a serene resting place.

Mary Jane Williams Fox will be dearly missed, yet her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to resonate within the hearts of those she leaves behind.
