Mary Joyce Gilliland, 80, of Clanton, Alabama passed away July 17, 2023, at her residence.
She was born June 5, 1943, in Alabama.
She was retired from M4A as a Senior RX Coordinator, a job she dearly loved working with Seniors. She was a member of Walnut Creek Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, and lead in various other ministries through out her life. She had a gift for helping the elderly and others in need. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens, watching Alabama Football, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She was an inspiration to everyone that met her and she never hesitated to share her love for the Lord.
She is survived by her devoted, loving Husband and Love of her life of 62 years, Jerry L. Gilliland; Daughter, Diane Handley; Son, Kent (Tracy) Gilliland; Grandchildren that she adored, Jessica (Austin) Bartolic, Laura (Justin) Headley, Ben (Kelly) Handley, Zachery Martin; Great-Grandchildren her Pride and Joy, Madison Headley, Emmett Headley, Ava Headley, Stella Handley, Cooper Handley, Sawyer Bartolic, Grady Bartolic, Walker Bartolic; Sister, Shirley Green; Brother Douglas (Pam) Gore; A host of nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Raymond L. Gore; Mother, Flora “ Johnnie” R. Gore; Brother, Jimmy Ray Gore; Son-in-Law, Larry Handley; Brother-in-Law, Jerry D. Green; Nephew, Jamey Ray Gore.
Friends will be received Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Walnut Creek Methodist Church, Clanton, Alabama.
Services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Walnut Creek Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Hughes and Rev. Stanley Carter officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Creek Methodist Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
The Family would like to thank CenterWell Home Health and Expect Care Hospice for the love and care that was given to our Mama and Family during her journey fighting Breast Cancer. The Family would also like to give a special Thank You to her sitters that gave so much love and care to her, Patricia Talley, Shirley Green, and Krystal Parker.
