Mary Ethel Melton, 79, of Jemison, Alabama passed away October 18, 2021 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. She was born March 5, 1942 in Clanton, Alabama, daughter of the late William Gaston Minor and the late Eudora Thomas Minor. She was an Inspector with GKN Manufacturing. Surviving are her Daughter, Karen Caton Atkins; Son, Kenneth Steven (Angela) Caton; Grandsons, Curtis Atkins, Brad Atkins, Trae Caton; Granddaughter, Kristina Caton; 6 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Ross (Joyce) Minor; Sisters, Marynell (James) Melton, Janice (Billy Ray) Popwell; Sister-in-law, Nell Minor; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father, William Gaston Minor; Mother, Eudora Minor; Son, Brian Raybon Caton; Brothers, James Minor and Buddy Minor. Friends will be received Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery, 1651 County Road 83, Clanton, Alabama 35045. Pallbearers will be Glenn Minor, Denny Carroll, Michael Carroll, Trae Caton, Curt Atkins, and Brad Atkins.
