Mary Frances Ray

Mary Frances Ray, 78, of Jemison, Alabama passed away March 15, 2023, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.

She was born October 20, 1944, in Montevallo, Alabama, daughter of the late Arthur Payton and the late Curdie Payton.

She was a Homemaker and loved taking care of all her family and friends.  She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Nana, Aunt and Friend.

Surviving are her Husband, Freemon Ray; Daughters, Wendy (David) Avery and Gail (John) Anderson; Son, Jeff (Britney) Ray; Grandchildren, Cody (Haley) Avery, Austin (Brianna) Anderson, Haley (Aaron) McLendon and  Bryleigh Ray; Great-Grandchildren, Evie Avery, Neely Avery, Bella Anderson and Landon Anderson; Siblings, Larry Payton, Charlene Mims, Carol Wilson, Tommy Payton and Jimmy Payton; a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Arthur Payton; Mother, Curdie Payton; Brothers, Carl Payton, Bill Payton and Chester Payton.

Friends will be received Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 2:00 pm. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug West and Rev. Mark Bolton officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove #1 Baptist Cemetery.
