Maxine Alford Plier, age 88, went to sleep in Jesus on December 18, 2020, in Thorsby, Alabama. She was born on May 3, 1932, in Clay County, Alabama. Maxine was a faithful servant to God, a devoted wife, and mother. She pursued her love of music beginning at the age of eight as the church pianist, serving at various churches for 80 years. She was a graduate of New Site High School and later studied classical music at the University of Montevallo. She graduated from the School of Nursing at George C. Wallace College and worked until retirement. Her love of music continued, she was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed gardening. Maxine was an avid reader and had succeeded in reading the Bible 10 times. Her greatest joy was to be with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Plier. They were happily married for 50 years. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Faye Little. Maxine is survived by Anthony Plier, Holly and Donald Boggus, Gregg and Belinda Plier, Charlotte and Jeffrey Powers, Robin and Derek Gray, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Services will be held at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton, Alabama; Wednesday, December 23, 2020; with visitation from 10:00-11:00 and service beginning at 11:00. No graveside service will be held.
