Mickey Warren Atkins

Mickey Warren Atkins, 68, of Clanton, Alabama passed away July 4, 2026, at his home in Clanton, Alabama. He was born October 4, 1957, in Decatur, Alabama and was preceded in death by his Father, Odie Atkins; his Mother, Imogene Atkins;  and his Sister, Joan DiGiulian.

He served as the manager of Russell Do-It Center in Clanton from its opening in 1997 until his retirement in 2021. Prior to that, he also served as the manager and assistant manager at Russell stores in Decatur, AL and Prattville, AL respectively. 

An avid baseball fan, Mickey could often be found watching his children and grandchildren playing baseball and softball or supporting them in whatever activity they were participating in. When not at the field, he rarely missed his Atlanta Braves on television, a tradition he carried on from his mother. 

Surviving him are his Wife, Judy Atkins; Sons, Eric (Kathryn) Atkins, Marcus (Alexis) Atkins; Daughters, Angela (Kyle) Tignor, Laura (Jason) Cleckley; Grandsons, Cole Tignor, Turner Atkins, Bryce Atkins; Granddaughters, Addison Tignor, Madilyn Atkins; and Brothers, Gary Atkins, Ronnie (Faye) Atkins, Steve (Nancy) Atkins; A host of other family.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Wilson officiating.

Interment will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens, Clanton, Alabama.
