Monroe Terrell IVY, 79, of Clanton died Friday, October 2, 2009 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Monday, June 16, 1930 in Quitman, Mississippi, Son of the late Rufus Franklin Ivy and the late Ola Elizabeth Anderson. He was a Farmer. Surviving are his Wife of 53 years, Rosie Bell Hicks Ivy of Clanton, AL; 2 Sons, Rufus Monroe "Frankie" (Terry) Ivy of Clanton, AL, James Franklin (Amy) Ivy of Clanton, AL; Grandchildren, Casey, Kerri, Ethan & Jackson Ivy, Numerous nieces & nephews; Sister, Lula Merle Miller of Dothan, AL; Brother, J.W. Ivy of Gadsden, AL. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Rufus Franklin & Ola Elizabeth Ivy; Brothers Lamar Ivy, Donell Ivy, Rufus Junior Ivy, Colen Ivy and Sister, Pauline Ivey. Friends will be received from 1-3PM, Monday, October 5, 2009 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, October 5, 2009, at 3:00PM. at Martin Funeral Home with officiating. Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, Thorsby, AL Martin Funeral Home directing.
