Rev. Morris E. Horton, Sr., 79, of Jemison died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Shelby Ridge Nursing Home, Alabaster. He was born on Monday, June 11, 1934 in Bibb Co., AL, Son of the late Jimmy Horton and the late Vera Garrett Horton. He was a Merchant. Surviving are his Sons, Morris (Janice) Horton, Jr. of Calera, AL, Jack (Renae) Horton of Hanceville, AL; 4 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, Elton Horton of Jemison, AL, Harry Horton of Alabaster, AL, Larry Horton of Alabaster, AL; Sisters, June Blackerby of Pelham, AL, Jimmie Ruth Headley of Springfield, MO; Daughters, Linda, Earline, Shirley, & Rita. He was preceded in death by his Wives, Betty & Velma Horton. Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Services will be held Monday, February 24, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery, Jemison, AL.
