Morris Edward Padgett, Sr., 91, humble servant of Christian faith, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2015. He was surrounded by his wife of 72 years, Lanette Little Padgett and four children at his home in Hoover, AL. He was born on Saturday, August 4, 1923 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late Julian Ernest Padgett and the late Lilla Eugenia Littleton. He was an entrepreneur of many businesses, including developer and builder. His servant heart touched many lives through individual acts of kindness and his generous support of multiple faith-based organizations through-out his lifetime. Morris was a deacon in the Baptist Faith and served as charter member of Bell Lane Baptist Church, Clanton, AL, longtime member of Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church & Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, both in Homewood, AL. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, known to most as PawPaw. Surviving are his Wife, Lanette Little Padgett, married in 1943; Daughters, Kay (Guy) Ray, Lynn (Willis) Johnson, Joyce (David) Melton; Son, Morris (Debbie) Padgett, Jr.; 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren; he was a special uncle to many Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Julian Ernest Padgett & Lilla Eugenia Littleton Padgett; Brother, Josiah Randall Padgett; Grandson and his wife, Dylan Eugene Barry and Melissa Shelly Barry. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Bell Lane Baptist Church, Clanton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Bell Lane Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Christensen and Dr. George Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Clanton City Cemetery, Clanton, AL. Pallbearers, Brian Ray, Bradley Ray, Will Johnson, Lee Johnson, Trey Padgett, Zeke Barry, Kurt Michell, Rick Bush.
