Oscar (O.J.) James McGriff, 87, of Verbena died Saturday, September 11, 2010. He was born on Saturday, January 13, 1923 in Henry Co., AL, Son of the late Leroy McGriff and the late Elizabeth Mason Green McGriff. He served for 32 years on the Chilton County Board of Education and worked 46 years for Alabama Power Co. Surviving are his Wife, Mrs. Martha H McGriff of Verbena, AL; Daughter, Mrs. Holley M. Green of Lawley, AL; 3 Sons, Mr. O.J. McGriff, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL, Mr. Russell McGriff of Clanton, AL, Mr. Glenn McGriff of Jemison, AL; 7 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at 11:00 A.M.. at Verbena Cemetery with Rev. Doug Orr and Rev. Jack Davis officiating.
