Patricia Ann Bates Smitherman, 66, of Clanton died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Prattville Baptist Hospital. She was born on Tuesday, July 19, 1949 in Chilton Co., AL, Daughter of the late Leonard H. Bates, Sr. and the late Lois Rhodes Bates. She was a Bookkeeper at Peoples Southern Bank. Surviving are his Son, Kevin "Red Dog" Smitherman of Deatsville, AL; Daughter-in-Law, Brittany Smitherman of Deatsville, AL; Granddaughter, Marlee Jordan Smitherman of Deatsville, AL; Brothers, Gary W. (Judy) Bates of Satsuma, AL, Buddy (Brenda) Bates of Clanton, AL; Nephews, Zack (Traci) Bates of Clanton, AL, Patrick Bates of Clanton, AL; Great-Niece, Becca Bates of Clanton, AL. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Walter Lee Smitherman. Friends will be received from 12-2, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Glad Tidings Church of God.
