He was born on Wednesday, July 14, 1948 in Tupelo, MS, Son of the late Lawrence Rayden Matthews and the late Beatrice Rey Matthews. He was a Teacher/Professor at Enterprise State Community College. Surviving are Wife, Regina Matthews of Clanton, AL; Sons, Paul Bryan (Camilla) Matthews of Tuscaloosa, AL, Andrew Rayden (Renee) Matthews of Nashville, TN; Daughter, Amy (John David) Owen of Birmingham, AL; Grandchildren, Harper Matthews, Dabbs Matthews, Emily Owen, Samuel Owen; Mother, Beatrice Matthews; Sister, Debbie (Tony) Kirk; Nephew, Matthew Kirk; Niece, Andrea Kirk. He was preceded in death by his Father, Lawrence Rayden Matthews. Friends will be received from 5:30 until 8:00 Saturday, October 17, 2015 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 2:30 P.M. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Matt DeBord officiating.
