Phyllis M. Moates, 69, of Clanton died Sunday, February 19, 2017 at UAB, Birmingham. She was born on Wednesday, June 11, 1947 in Jefferson Co., AL, Daughter of the late Layle Samford, Sr. and the late Pernie McCarty Samford. She was a Postal Worker. Surviving are Husband, Kenneth E. Moates; Son, Mark (Lisa) Moates; Daughter, Michelle (Rickey) Coker; Grandsons, Trey Coker, Avery Moates; Granddaughters, Alexa Moates, Kadie Coker; Brother, Layle Samford, Jr.. She was preceded in death by her Granddaughter, Cassie Michelle Coker, Parents, Layle & Pernie Samford, Brother, Jack Morrow and Sister, Pam Ardledge. Friends will be received from 5-7, Monday, February 20, 2017 @ Martin Chapel. Services will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Donald Talley officiating.
