Rebecca Lee Lockhart, 81, of Clanton, Alabama passed away May 13, 2026, in Clanton, AL.

She was born March 10, 1945, in Chilton County, Alabama, daughter of the late Albert Jay Newman and the late Ruby Newman.

She devoted her life to loving and caring for her family, whom she cherished deeply. Strong-willed and fiercely independent, she carried herself with grace, determination, and quiet strength throughout her life. In her spare time, she found great joy tending to her flower beds, where she loved spending peaceful moments whenever she was able.

Surviving are her loving Husband, Thomas Lockhart; Son, Greg (Barbara) Lockhart; Brothers, Johnny Albert (Janice) Newman, Winston (Patricia) Newman; Sister, Margaret Ann (Wayne) Mizzell; Nieces, Misty (Kenny) Bolton, Melissa (Steven) Edwards, Tammy (Lane) Miller; A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Albert Jay & Ruby Lee Newman; Son, Timothy Lockhart; Brothers, Donald Cole Newman, Franklin Ulysses Newman, William Roosevelt (Bill) Newman; Sisters, Annie Lee (Leady) Goddin, Gracie Jeanette Oaks Glass, Syble Ragsdale, Lottie Lavelle (Pete) Goddin, Betty Joyce Robinson.

Friends will be received Monday, May 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, at 2:00 pm. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery
