Ressie Mae Simmons

Ressie Mae (Mims) Simmons, 90, went home to be with our Lord on January 7, 2012. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Mrs. Simmons was born in Chilton County on April 5, 1921 to the late Emanuel Mims (Uncle Man) and the late Ola Hand Mims. Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker. She leaves behind three daughters, Sara Nell Williams of Birmingham, AL; Lucille Price of Clanton, AL; and Willie Mae (Roger) Crowson of Clanton, AL. Eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She was greatly loved by her friends and family. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband Jake Simmons, son-in-law, Derrell Williams, and son-in-law, Ralph Price. Special thanks to Dr. Keith Funderburk, Dr. Woods, The Southern Care Hospice teams, each and every caretaker for their gracious help with our mom and grandmother. Funeral Service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Robert Sandifer and Rev. Daryl Jones officiating. Family and friends will be received Monday, January 9, 2012 from 5-8pm at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home directing.
