Richard Stanley Davis

Richard Stanley Davis, of Clanton, Alabama passed awayWednesday, May 29, 2024.

He was born January 19, 1942, in Colon, Republic of Panama.

Richard was raised in Chilton County and graduated from Verbena High School. He went on to graduate from Auburn University in 1964. Upon graduation, he began a career as an educator and was a teacher and coach for six years. He married Gwendolyn Frucci, of Verbena, on February 6, 1965. They returned to Chilton County in 1973 and he pursued a career selling insurance for New York Life.

Richard loved his family, his church, community service, young people, and the Auburn Tigers. He was always there for all of Rick and Rachel's events. His tireless willingness to volunteer was one of his greatest attributes. While serving in the Lion's Club, he was the central Alabama director for East-West Baseball, which benefited Alabama Sight, for 35 years. He later served as director of the Chilton County Peach Festival for 12 years until he became disabled in 2009.

For those who knew Richard, they know he was a straight shooter, had a quick wit, and when he committed to something, he was all in and could be counted on to get things done. With Richard, you always knew where you stood, his integrity was his greatest attribute.

Friends will be received Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Clanton First Methodist Church.

Services will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm. at Clanton First Methodist Church with Rev. Wes Kelley officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.

The family requests no flowers, but to make donations to Clanton First Methodist Church.
