Richard Murray Harper, 69, of Calera died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Friday, December 7, 1945 in Jefferson Co., AL, Son of the late Oliver Murray Harper and the late Selma Browning Harper. He was a Truck Driver. Surviving are Wife, Betty Harper of Calera, AL; Daughter, Sharis Harper of Calera, AL; Sister, Bette Herron of Foley, AL; Brother, John Harper of Ft. Morgan, AL; Nephew, Jarrod Harper of Thorsby, AL; Niece, Jody Varden of Magnolia Springs, AL, Julie Parker of Foley, AL; 2 Grand Nieces, 5 Grand Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Oliver & Selma Harper; Sister, Faye Harper. Friends will be received from 5-7, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, July 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.. at Martin Chapel with Chaplain William Phares officiating. Interment will follow in Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, AL.
