Robert Earl Blankenship

Robert Earl Blankenship, 78, of Kerrville, Texas passed away at his home on August 27, 2021. He was born on March 19, 1943 to Robert Vester and Eula Mae Blankenship in Thorsby, Alabama. After graduating valedictorian from Thorsby School, Robert “Bob” went on to earn his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University. He worked as an engineer at Gulf/Chevron in Southeast Texas for more than 25 years. Upon his retirement from Chevron, he worked with various other refineries until finally making “Paradigm Ranch” his residence in beautiful Mountain Home, Texas. Bob enjoyed hunting and working on the ranch, where he raised many species of exotic game animals. He loved to work with his hands and could repair or build anything he put his mind to. Bob opened his arms and home to welcome many family and friends over the years. We all have cherished memories of time spent with him on the ranch. He was a friend and mentor to everyone he met, always offering advice, wisdom and support. Bob is survived by his son, James Robert Blankenship and wife Stephanie, his daughter, Lana Michelle Reuter and husband Kevin. Grandchildren, Dillan, Austin, Dakotah, Abbey, Drayden and Logan. Brother, Jerry Wayne Blankenship and wife Linda and brother Johnny Mac Blankenship. Nephew, Jeff (Sharon) Blankenship, as well as numerous beloved extended family and friends. His pups/best buddies, Smokey and Lil’ Bit. Fondly remembered for his silly sense of humor, sharp mind and kindness to others, Dad/Papaw Bob will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00am at Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, Thorsby, Alabama with Rev. Jason Green officiating. Interment to follow.
