Robert Childress, 87, of Thorsby died Friday, July 12, 2019. He was born on Wednesday, April 6, 1932 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late Jim Alfred Childress and the late Glennie Foshee Childress. He was a Road Foreman. Surviving are Daughters, Martha (Keith) Jackson, Laura (Mark) Jones, Amy (Kevin) Nelson; Son, Ronnie (Christie) Childress; Daughter-in-Law, Kathy Childress; 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren, 2 More Great Grands on the way, Many Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Wife of 69 years, Minnie Davenport Childress, Son, Danny Childress, Parents, Jim Alfred & Glennie Foshee Childress, Brothers, Horace & Earl Childress. Friends will be received from 1-3 pm, Sunday, July 14, 2019 @ Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church. Services will be held Sunday, July 14, 2019, at 3:00 P.M. at Mt. Carmel Baptist #1 with Justin Nelson, Rev. William Short and Rev. Matt Hilyer officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel #1 Cemetery, Thorsby, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
