Robert Houston Edwards, aged 81, of Clanton, Alabama, peacefully passed away on March 20, 2026, at his residence surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 1, 1944, in Alabama, Robert was the cherished son of the late Charles and Marzell Edwards.A skilled mechanist by profession, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He deeply adored his grandchildren and took great pride in his time spent woodworking. A passionate deer hunter and a devoted Alabama football fan, he loved following the Crimson Tide games—even if that meant recording them to watch the next day, as staying up late wasn’t always an option. Robert is lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda B. Edwards; his daughter-in-law, Vickie (Tim) Boswell; and his sister, Mary Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edwards Sr.; mother, Marzell Edwards; first wife, Mattie Jo Edwards; daughter, Rebecca Ann Edwards; and brothers, Ollie Clyde Edwards, Tommy Edwards, and Charles Edwards Jr.The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Vickie Boswell for her exceptional care, friendship, and unwavering support during this time.Robert’s life was one of warmth, dedication, and love—a true reflection of the values he held dear.
