Robert Linus Seabury, age 80, of Jemison, AL. having fought the good fight and having finished the course, entered the eternal presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 6, 2010. He was a loving husband, father and "Poppy" and will greatly be missed by all who knew him. He proudly served as a Cpl. in the United States 585th Army Signal Support Company out of Fort Monmouth, NJ from 1952-1954, during the Korean War. He worked as a Foreman at Birmingham Treatment Facility at Jim Walter Resources, retiring after 43 years of service. He was a Deacon and member of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class at Jemison First Baptist. He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Seabury; mother, Marcia Whitaker Seabury; brother, John W. Seabury; sisters, Marcia Seabury Garrett (Gordon) and Betty Lou Seabury. Survived by his wife of 60 years Charlotte McAbee Seabury; daughter, Marsha S. Lambert and sons, Ted (Dee) Seabury and Tom (Jamelle) Seabury, grandchildren, Richey (Jennifer) Lambert, Bailey and Anna Virginia Seabury and great granddaughter Karlee Lambert, sister Rachel Seabury Hurst and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, October 7, 2010 6-8 PM at Jemison First Baptist Church with Burial Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Bessemer, AL.
