Ruben Alvin Hayes

Ruben Alvin Hayes, 86, of Thorsby, Alabama passed away April 26, 2024, in Thorsby, AL.

He was born August 10, 1937, in Chilton Co., Alabama, son of the late Vastine Hayes and the late Ada Hayes.

He was a retired Trinity Iron Worker after 32 years of service.

Ruben was an avid outdoors man who also was blessed with a green thumb which he used to grow his garden every year. He also loved to travel with his family, he was especially fond of the Great Smokey Mountains. His love for God, his church and all of his family was inspiring to many and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara P. Hayes; Son, Ricky A. (Ann) Hayes; Daughter, Tina H. (Steve) Guy; Sister, Lyndel Ellison; Granddaughters, Rachel (Cameron) Beam, Meagen (Zach) Moore; Grandson, Nelson (Kristen) Guy; Great-Grandchildren, Ada Lee Beam, Grayson Beam, Logan Grier, Leighton Moore, Emery Guy, Ensley Guy, Brynle Beam & Ella Beam.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Vastine Alvin Hayes & Ada Pauline Hayes; Brother, Aubrey Lee Hayes; Great-Grandchild, Gavin Beam.

Friends will be received Monday, April 29, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Monday, April 29, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brock Goetsch, Bro. Larry Davis & Bro. Marc Hodges officiating.

Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens.

Family has requested no flowers, please make donations to Victory Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Ruben Hayes.
