After graduation from Maplesville High School Frances furthered her education at Livingston University (University of West Alabama) and obtained a degree in elementary education. After marrying Jeff Grooms she moved to Birmingham and taught kindergarten at Hunter Street Baptist Church until she retired from teaching. Walker Jr. and Wilmer Walker; sister in laws and their husbands Leoid and Walter Lecroy, Louise and Otis Lecroy, and Ruth Edna and Junior Smith. She will be incredibly missed by her daughter Stacy Grooms Bryant and son-in-law Greg Sims Bryant. Survivors include her grandsons who she was extremely proud of, Grayson Walker Bryant and Davis Sims Bryant; her sister Alma Walker Higginbotham and husband Lynn Higginbotham and good friend Lillie Minnifield Harmon. She was blessed with many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the following for their numerous visits over the years - Alma and Lynn Higginbotham, Tommie and Pete Smith, Bobbie Lansdown, Cathy Marcus, Mary and Allen Martin, Lillie Harmon and Danny Conley.
