Ruth Doris Wallace Roper

Ruth Doris Wallace Roper, 95, of Maplesville died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Shelby Ridge Nursing Home, Alabaster. She was born on Friday, August 4, 1922 in Maplesville, AL, Daughter of the late Jake Wallace and the late Gladys Wooley Wallace. She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for 40 years at Green Valley Baptist Church, Hoover, AL. Ruth was also a member of Maplesville Baptist Church. She was a dedicated grandmother and an avid Crimson Tide fan. We know she has gone to be with the Lord. Surviving are her Son, Randall W. Roper (Sharon) of Maplesville, AL; Granddaughter, Heather Carroll (Mitchell) of Plantersville, AL; Great-Grandchildren, Grant, Abbie, Brook, Chloe, David, Ellie, Faith; Brother, John C. Wallace (Isla) of Maplesville, AL; A host of nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Walter White Roper; Brothers, Melton Wallace, Horace Wallace, J.E. Wallace; Sister, Marjorie Hopper. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Maplesville, with Mitchell Carroll officiating.
