Samuel Silas Shepard

Samuel Silas Shepard, 74, of Verbena, Alabama passed away September 15, 2020 at his residence in Verbena, Alabama. He was born on Saturday, April 20, 1946 in Alabama, the son of the late Barney Shepard and Emma "Betty" Shepard. He was a horse trainer and trained cutting horses. He had a love for his horses and cows. He was also known for his love of reading and knowledge of books. He was considered a scholar and would love discussing books with everyone. Surviving are his Wife, Pam Thomas Shepard; Daughters, Stephanie Shepard (Jeff) Lapp and Emma Caroline Shepard; Sons, John Austin (Stacy) Shepard and Thomas Harris Shepard; Granddaughter, Caylee Ann Shepard; Grandson, John Cade Shepard; Mother, Emma "Betty" E Shepard; Brothers, Lanny Shepard, Nick Shepard, Lee Shepard, and Robby Shepard. He was preceded in death by his Father, Barney Silas Shepard. A memorial service will be on Friday, September 25, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. at Bethsalem Baptist Church. Martin Funeral Home directing.
