Obituary

Sandra Lockhart Patterson, age 76, of Billingsley, Alabama, peacefully passed away on June 23, 2026, at her residence. Born on February 1, 1950, in Alabama, Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late William Sterling Lockhart and the late Marie Parker Lockhart.

Sandra spent her life in service to her community, embracing the simple joys and responsibilities that came with her role as a rural Mail Carrier.

Sandra’s family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her devoted sons, Derick (Becky) Patterson, and Shane Patterson. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Ashley (Hunter) Northcutt, Kaylee Patterson, as well as her precious great-grandchildren, Heidi, Ella, Ahendrix, Elsie, and J.B. Sandra’s sisters—Donna Daniel, Jan Jones and her husband David, and Carole Grayson, brother Chip Lisa Lockhart—mourn her passing while cherishing memories of their close bond. She also leaves behind a host of other family members whose lives she enriched with love and kindness.

Sandra was predeceased by her beloved husband, Crayton Patterson; grandson, Tyler Patterson; father, William Sterling Lockhart, and mother, Marie Parker Lockhart.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation to be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Indian Grave Baptist Church, 1343 County Road 24, Billingsley, Alabama. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., also at Indian Grave Baptist Church, with Rev. Daryle Nichols officiating. Interment will take place in Indian Grave Cemetery, Billingsley, Alabama, under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.

Sandra Lockhart Patterson’s life was marked by unwavering devotion to her loved ones and her community. Though she will be deeply missed, her gentle spirit, enduring love, and example of steadfast service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
