Sara McAfee MITCHELL, 92, of Maplesville died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Nolan Hospital. She was born on Friday, June 15, 1917 in Chilton Co., Alabama, Daughter of the late John R. McAfee and the late Martha Moore McAfee. She was a Lunchroom Manager. Surviving are her 2 Daughters, Mrs. Judy (Tom) Hill of Northport, AL, Ms. Martha Jo Mitchell of Maplesville, AL; 2 Sons, Mr. John Lewis (Bettye) Mitchell, Jr. of Opelika, AL, Mr. Terry R. (Pat) Mitchell of Gardendale, AL; Step-daughter, Mrs. Johnnie M. (Rother) Davis of Birmingham, AL; Step-son, Mr. Joe Willie (JoAnn) Mitchell of Huntsville, AL; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; Sister, Mrs. Grace Tilley of Altoona, AL. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. John Lewis Mitchell, Sr.; Grandson, Mr. Randall Mitchell; Step-Daughter, Mrs. Mary Lee Glasscock; Step-Son, Mr. Quinton Mitchell and 10 brothers & sisters. Friends will be received from 5-8, Sunday, January 10, 2010 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, January 11, 2010, at 11:00 AM. at Maplesville Baptist with Rev. Ben Bowden and Rev. Art Hartley officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Maplesville, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
