Sara Frances Powell

Frances Brigance Powell, 91, of Vida, Alabama passed away June 24, 2022 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL

She was born November 3, 1930 in Chilton County, Alabama, daughter of the late Raymond Brigance and the late Katie Gafford Brigance.

She was a Nurse for many years. Frances loved helping people and making delicious banana pudding.

Surviving are her Daughters, Gayle Green, Debbie (Bill) Simon; Sons, Donnie (Connie) Powell, Larry (Kathy) Powell, Randy (Sue) Powell; 18 Grandchildren; 35 Great Grandchildren; 29 Great Great Grandchildren; A host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Raymond Brigance; Mother, Katie Brigance; Husband, Cleveland Lester Powell; Son, David "Nub" Powell; Great-Great Granddaughter, Ellie Hope Abrams; Sons-in-Law, Marvin Baker, Marvin Green; Sisters, Johnnie Nelson, Hilder Allen; Special Friend, Little Ethel.

Friends will be received Monday, June 27, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Big Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Powell and Rev. Tyson McLean officiating. Honorary ministers will be Rev. Ken Chandler and Rev. Steve Vernon. She will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Interment will follow in Big Springs Baptist Cemetery, Billingsley, Alabama.

Pallbearers will be Todd Baker, Carey Powell, Bubba Powell, Matt Powell, Dillon Simon, Lee Powell, and Derek Johnson.
