Sarah Elizabeth Shirley, 90, of Clanton, Alabama passed away August 6, 2026, at her residence in Clanton, AL, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born April 28, 1936, in Alabama, daughter of the late Oscar Cox and the late Ozella Cox. 

She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.  She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as taking care of her flowers and watching them grow.  She loved God and her Bell Lane Baptist Church family, but although unable to attend for the last several years she continued to read her Bible as well as the church literature which was kindly given to her.  

Surviving are her Daughters, Sonja (Charles) Driver, Belinda Demirjian; Grandsons, Reggie Bearden, Scott (Lauren) Demirjian; Granddaughters, Hollie (Sean) Gasser, Michelle Demirjian (Brandon Bonacorso); Great-Granddaughters, Adisyn Bearden, Brooke Montero, Olivia Gasser, Brittany Bonacorso, Emilia Bonacorso; Great-Grandsons, Cayden Smeltzer, Greyson Demirjian, Jeremiah Demirjian, Levi Demirjian, Sabastian Demirjian, Thomas Brown (Kim); as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, James E. Shirley, Father, Oscar Cox, Mother, Ozella Brown Cox, granddaughter, Cynthia Joy Demirjian, sister, Mildred Neeley, brothers, Ralph Cox and Wallace Cox; Nephew, Brent Cox.

Friends will be received Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm. at Martin Funeal Home Chapel with Ken Chandler officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
