Scott Van Stokes

Scott Van Stokes, 44, of Clanton, Alabama passed away July 8, 2024.  He was the son of Kirk Stokes and the late Vicki Thigpen Stokes.

Surviving are his Father, Kirk (Paula) Stokes; Grandmother, Ruby Thigpen; Brother, Stephen Stokes; Sisters, April (Brandon) McKnight and Mary Beth (Matt) Edwards; Nephews, Preston Edwards, Reed Stokes and Asa McKnight; Niece, Caroline McKnight; and a host of dear family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Vicki Stokes; Grandparents, James "Skeeter" Stokes, Gay Stokes and Elliot "Butch" Thigpen.

Scott was a great friend to many.  He was both kind and generous and was the type of person on whom you could always count to lend a helping hand.  Scott was also a fantastic cook; his lasagna was undeniably the best around!  He dearly loved his animals, good music, gardening, boating and canoeing, studying history, reading, and spending time at the lake.  We all have many fond memories of times spent with him, and he will be cherished in our hearts always.
