Sherilyn "Sherry" Jean McGhar, 70, of Thorsby, Alabama passed away February 19, 2026, in Montgomery, AL.
She was born November 6, 1955, in Hawthorne, Nevada, daughter of the late Allen Hamm and the late Peggy Hamm.
She retired from AT&T after more than 30 years of dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. She had a deep love for music and found great joy in tending to her vegetable garden. Gifted and creative, she was truly artistic and had a special talent for crafts. She especially enjoyed bass fishing alongside her beloved husband and delighted in decorating Christmas trees each year, a tradition she cherished. Above all, she embraced life with creativity, warmth, and love.
Surviving are her Husband, Jed McGhar; Sons, Brandon McGhar, Chad McGhar; Sister, Jane (Steve) Wilson; Brother, Mark (Beverly) Hamm; Seven Grandchildren; A host of numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Allen & Peggy Hamm, as well as her Grandparents, Odis & Floy Price and George & Maggie Hamm.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2:00 pm. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery, Jemison, Alabama.
