Shirley Ann Porter SMITH, 71, of Calera died Thursday, December 11, 2008 at her residence in Calera. She was born on Wednesday, August 25, 1937 in Shelby, Alabama, Daughter of the late Amos Porter and the late Bessie Ellen Morris Porter. She was retired from Jemison Basket Factory. Surviving are Husband, John Robert "Buddy" Smith of Calera, AL; 2 Sisters, Lula Faye Porter of Jemison, AL, Betty Sue Porter of Jemison, AL. She was preceded in death by: Father, Amos Porter; Mother, Bessie Ellen Porter; Sister, Dorothy Nell Porter. Friends will be received from 5-8, Friday, December 12, 2008 at Martin Chapel.. Services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 2:00 pm. at Thompson Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Thurman Cleckler and Rev. Mark Bolton officiating. Interment will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Calera, Alabama. Martin Funeral Home directing.
