Shirley Jean Jones

Shirley Amason Jones, 71, of Verbena, Alabama passed away January 22, 2021 at St. Vincent's Chilton, Clanton, AL. She was born April 3, 1949 in West Palm Beach, Florida, daughter of Marion Amason and Betty Amason. She was a Cosmetologist for most of her life, and in her later years she worked for Southernfield as a confined space attendant where she traveled throughout the US. She was loved by all of her crew members who knew her as MawMaw. She was a talented artist who loved painting, crafting, and making things with duct tape. Surviving are her Husband, David Jones, Daughter, Karen (Jackie) Coggins, Daughter, Gwen (Jeff) Knee, Daughter, Krista (David) Dailey, Granddaughter, Ashley (Whitney) Ray, Grandson, Derek Lockhart, Grandson, Logan Lucas, Grandson, Kenny Lanier, Jr., Grandson, Nicholas Lanier, Granddaughter, Sarah (Johnny) Holler, Grandson, Justin (Katlyn) Dailey, Granddaughter, Mariah Dailey, Grandson, Cole Jones, Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Jones, Granddaughter, Brianna Jones, 7 1/2 Great Grandchildren, Sister, Barbara (Mike) Dorough, Sister, Maryleigh (Paul) Barnwell, Sister, Jill (Byron) Bennett, Brother, Tom (Lisa) Amason, Brother, Richard (Debbie) Amason, Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father, Marion Amason, Mother, Mary Elizabeth Amason, Daughter, Melissa Jones. Friends will be received Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, January 29, 2021, at 3:00 pm. at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Baptist Cemetery, Marbury, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Cole Jones, Justin Dailey, Derek Lockhart, Kenny Lanier, Nicholas Lanier, and Logan Lucas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adam Dorough, Braxton Lauder, and Brayden Ray.
