Sue B McKinney

Sue B. McKinney, 90, of Clanton, Alabama passed away peacefully at her home on May 31, 2026.

Born on September 22, 1935, to Arthur and Ruby Bratton in Jemison, Alabama. Sue dedicated many years to Chilton County High School as a History, English, and Glee Club teacher. She touched countless lives through her passion for history and her commitment to providing students with opportunities to travel and experience Europe. A gifted singer, she was an active member of her church choir, and her annual performance of "Oh Holy Night" was a cherished Christmas tradition.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, John C. McKinney; her parents,Arthur and Ruby Bratton; her brothers, Joe and Larry Bratton; sister-in-law, Nell Bratton.

She is survived by her sons, Paul (Linda) McKinney, Phillip (Vanessa) McKinney, David (Kim) McKinney; grandchildren Matthew (Hilary) McKinney, Susan McKinney, Allison Smith, Emily (Jared) Nelson, Jacob (Tara) McKinney, Patrick (Madi) McKinney, Mary (Parker) Watts; Six Great-Granddaughters; A host of other family.

Friends will be received Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Clanton First Methodist Church.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm. at Clanton First Methodist Church with Rev. Wes Kelley officiating.

Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Jemison, Alabama.

The family asks that there be no flowers, instead make donations to CFlanton First Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's research Hospital.
