Thomas Forrest, Sr., 84, of Clanton, Alabama passed away November 7, 2022.
Thomas was a retired gospel preacher having preached for over 49 years both
Full-time and part-time in several states for the churches of Christ. He served as an elder
while preaching in Waukegan, Illinois. He also served as a school counselor for Richard
Hardy Memorial School in Richard City, Tennessee for nearly three years; and served five years
as a school Counselor for Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery, Alabama. Thomas
mainly worked for struggling small congregations barely able to support themselves and
the preacher and his family. Thomas has done some radio preaching in Ohio and
Arkansas and was able to write several religious articles for the local news paper in the
small towns in which he labored. He also co-directed two large Evangelistic Campaigns
while preaching in Ohio with Bob Bryson and Directed two campaigns in northern
Illinois with fellow preacher and members of the local church. Each of their campaigns
were instrumental in building the church in those areas spiritually and numerically. He is
Survived by his daughter, Tammy (Forrest) Wetzel of
Jacksonville , Fl; son, Thomas, Jr. of Clanton, Alabama; five Grandsons; four
Granddaughters; three great Grandsons and three great Granddaughters. Internment was
at Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama. Thomas and Patricia Forrest were married for 63 years.
Thomas also has 2 brothers and 2 sisters living in Indiana.
