Verna Stone Harrison

On February 12, 2022, Verna Elizabeth (Stone) Harrison died in Haleyville, Alabama of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 75 years old.

Verna is survived by her husband Harley Grady Harrison; her children, Stacey Harley Harrison and Glen Grady Harrison; and siblings Myrtle Louise (Stone) Taylor, Minnie Dee (Stone) Vinson, Gillie Angerine (Stone) Hughey, and Elodean (Stone) Vinson; and six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Clifton Eldridge Stone and Verna Clifford (Nichols) Stone; and siblings Clyde Stone, William Eldridge Stone, Clifford Ernestine (Stone) Worrell, Martha Lee (Stone) Pugh, and James Lindon Stone.

Verna Elizabeth (Stone) Harrison was born on December 11, 1946 in Sprott, Alabama. She graduated from Suttle High School in 1965.

Verna married Harley Grady Harrison in 1966. They welcomed Stacey Harley Harrison in 1968 and Glen Grady Harrison in 1974. Verna was a devoted wife and mother whose hobbies included ceramics and travel. She also loved to spend time her family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow for Verna Elizabeth (Stone) Harrison is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 5349 AL-22, Stanton, AL 36790. It will be immediately followed by a graveside burial ceremony at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens, US Hwy 82, Maplesville, AL 36750.
