Virginia Ruth Ray, 74, of Jemison died Friday, April 3, 2015 at her home. She was born on Sunday, February 23, 1941 in Shelby Co., AL, Daughter of the late Sam F. Brasher and the late Mary Katherine Ellison Brasher. She was a Registered Nurse. Surviving are her Daughter, Gwen (Pat) Southard of Jemison, AL; Sons, Kenneth (Susan) Ray of Birmingham, AL, Carl (Kellie) Ray of Jemison, AL; Brothers, Frank Brasher of Jemison, AL, George Brasher of Jemison, AL; Sister, Mary Spain of Helena, AL; 8 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Mr. Hubert Ray. Friends will be received from10-11 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Jeff Champion officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison, AL.
