He was born on Wednesday, January 14, 1942 in Chilton Co., Alabama, Son of the late Jesse James Nelson and the late Evelyn Smith Nelson. He was a Carpenter. Surviving are his Wife, Peggy Nelson of Verbena, AL; 2 Sons, Jacky (Jackie) Nelson of Vida, AL, Franky (Sharron) Nelson of Verbena, AL; Daughter, Patricia (Aubury) Latham of Maplesville, AL; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 2 Brothers, Donald Ray Nelson of Clanton, AL, Odell Nelson of Birmingham, AL; 2 Sisters, Inez Owens of Verbena, AL, Helen Thomas of Clanton, AL. Friends will be received from 5-8, Sunday, March 15, 2009 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, March 16, 2009, at 1:00PM. at Billingsley Church of God with Rev. Jason Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in Billingsley Church of God Cemetery, Billingsley, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
